Action agrees partnership with South Lincolnshire Blind Society

Action for Blind People and South Lincolnshire Blind Society (SLBS) have entered into a formal partnership, agreeing to work closer together for the benefit of blind and partially sighted people in South Lincolnshire. The charities have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to reduce overlap in the provision of services and ensure people with sight loss are able to receive the support they need when and where they need it.

The Action for Blind People and Vision Hotels' websites are featured in the .net article "Make your website inclusive for all". As enabling participation in an inclusive society is central to everything Action do, our digital communications team are leading the way in facilitating this outcome online and do so by working to the Ten Principles of Inclusive Web Design. The principles have enabled Action to produce two beautiful, engaging, easy to use, highly intuitive and accessible websites that lay the foundation for future development and deeper engagement with the community.

Nominate a torchbearer for London 2012 Olympics

You could be one of the 8,000 people who will carry the Olympic flame from Land’s End to the Olympic Stadium in London for 19 May 2012. The organisers of the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games are looking for 8,000 people to carry the flame as it travels around the country. The deadline for nominations is 29 June 2011.

Volunteering Fund National Award will fund counselling services

Eat at the new Concept restaurant in Birmingham
