In association with HSBC, Action for Blind People will be hosting a money management workshop. The event is aimed at young adults aged 14 - 18 and may prove beneficial to young people who are starting college or university, starting work or beginning to control their own finances. Topics to be covered during the workshop will include Budget planning, financial awareness, debt avoidance, differences between credit and debit cards and a personal budget planning session. The aims of the day are about focussing on the skills you need to get a job, what changes you need to make to give you that extra push to find work and how to sell the skills you already have to potential employers. Blind in Business is a charity which operates across the United Kingdom, they help blind and partially sighted people into work through training and employment services. Action for Blind West Midlands would like to invite young visually impaired adults (aged 14-25) to the Birmingham City Vs Crystal Palace Championship football game. This is a great opportunity to attend a live football game and sample the full matchday experience, from the roar of the crowd to the smell of the half time pies! Through the unique Soccer Sight project all visually impaired partipants that attend will be able to use headsets throughout the game, where specially trained commentators will be able to provide un-interrupted commentary on the whole game.
