Lets talk sight loss and living with Uveitis

Posted on 15 May 2012 in Helen Markey's Blog

Having lived with Uveitis now for almost 30 years, it still amazes me to say that I have only ever met one person who has heard of it.

Job hunting

Posted on 17 April 2012 in Mark 's Blog

Job hunting: a bit of a challenge this. I've been actively looking for work since last September. I'm starting to get a little tired of my daily session of searching through email alerts for jobs that I'm unlikely to get! This first blog is in danger of turning into a bit of a rant so I must be careful not to let it, but…

Sight loss has nothing to do with having vision

Posted on 17 April 2012 in Steph 's Blog

People who have vision are the most exciting people I know. They are also the happiest, most fulfilled and often the most successful. The people I am referring to are both sighted and visually impaired. In my experience, they are equally exciting, equally fulfilled and equally successful.

It is something that I understand all too well and think about more than I care to admit.

Why am I so nauseatingly upbeat, positive and optimistic?

Posted on 27 September 2011 in Sandi's Blog

My life is never short of drama; whether I subconsciously seek it out or it is my legendary anti-Midas touch that brings it to me, life is quite a spectacular struggle. I am pretty certain that I could reduce my oversized share of tussles if I played by the rules, but that is not going to happen anytime soon.

Trust, respect and loyalty: life's precious gifts

Posted on 4 January 2011 in Sandi's Blog

I have not made any New Year's resolutions, but I am certainly resolute about the need for change. Between work, life and advocacy, I managed to over-commit myself beyond any one person's capacity and ran myself ragged. My friends and family kept on telling me I needed to slow down, but I didn't listen and they were left to stand by and watch the train wreck.
