I’ve always liked Pension Credit as a relatively generous benefit for people aged 60 or over on low income. Unfortunately it is under claimed, and from 2 November 2009 many more people could find that they are eligible.

Blog Reader Spots Fly In Ointment

In my blog 'What the Green Paper says about Attendance Allowance' 20/08/2009, I mentioned that the government had said that Disability Living Allowance (DLA) would not be affected by the new proposals for funding social care. This has been re-iterated by the Care services Minister Phil Hope. However blog reader Malcolm appears to have spotted a fly in the ointment. He comments, 'DLA is paid to people over 65 so it is hard to see how it is not affected'. I agree, so let's see what Phil Hope had to say.
