Theresa's Story
Theresa, who has cataracts and retinitis pigmentosa, was referred to the Greater Manchester Team by one of our partner organisations in Manchester, Henshaws Society for Blind People, as she was not receiving benefits and needed support to claim DLA.
Following the Team’s assistance, as well as support from Action Team Lancashire, Theresa was awarded Lower Rate Mobility and Middle Rate Care and is thrilled to be ‘a woman of means’! Theresa has also accessed the TV License Discount and is arranging special Income Tax Allowance for her husband.
Theresa and her family are thrilled with the knowledge that they have gained, and the services they have been able to access as a result of working with Action for Blind People.
