£300 provides Visual Awareness training for 15 people. One of the biggest challenges for someone who is blind is the lack of understanding they receive from sighted people of the problems they face. Training can change this.
£1000 pays for a Speech Scanner, which converts text into speech and a valuable tool for those who would not be able to read printed materials, such as job applications, news papers and household bills.
£10,000 covers the cost of setting up and running an Actionnaires sports club for one year. This could give up to 30 children the chance to build their self confidence and set them on the path to independence.
£150,000 pays to keep one of our Mobile Sight Loss Information Service vehicles on the road for a year. The vehicles are vital for taking information, advice and the latest equipment right into the heart of local communities.
