Around the world with Hilton hotels
In September 2007 Action staff and beneficiaries across the UK teamed up with 65 Hilton Hotels to circumnavigate the circumference of the earth!Companies support sport in the local community
The impact of our Actionnaires clubs on local communities is huge. Each club is meeting a need met by no other organisation and is forming the foundation for the healthy physical and social well-being of visually impaired children.High street banks support Action's Pin Badge campaign
Action and high street bank Lloyds TSB joined forces to raise funds and awareness for Action’s multi-activity sports clubs for blind and partially sighted children. In February 2009, HBOS will also be supporting the campaign 2008/09 sees Action entering the third year of a partnership with Kingfisher, Europe’s leading home improvement business and parent company of B&Q and Screwfix in the UK. BT is funding the production of our Visual Awareness training handbook and certificates.ICAP charity day gives boost to sports clubs
In 2005 Action benefited from the ICAP Global Charity Day where all profits and revenues generated by the city traders are donated to a selection of charities.International Law firm Lovells supports visually impaired entrepreneurs

Following a successful employee dress down day to raise funds, Action for Blind People was invited to the Birmingham Midshires head office to promote involvement opportunities for staff interested in taking an active role in learning about visual awareness.EDF Energy elects Action as Charity of the year
A small team of enthusiastic fundraisers from EDF Energy, based in Exeter, have elected Action as their Charity of the Year for 2008/2009.Abbey funds new equipment library
Abbey Charitable Trust has donated £20,000 to Action for Blind People in order to help fund the set up of a new 'Assistive Technology' Equipment Library for blind and partially sighted people in Camden.Action wins TalkTalk Innovation in the Community Award
The TalkTalk Awards, run in partnership with UK digital inclusion charity Citizens Online, focus on helping organisations to get the best out of technology. Charlotte Grobien is a social entrepreneur who, through her enterprise called Give It Away Ltd, funded the two London based Actionnaires clubs during 2007. Cash for Kids, CFM Radio’s charity which supports local disadvantaged children in Cumbria, donated over £2,500 to Carlisle Actionnaires.
