Disclosing a disability
There are no rules about telling an employer about a disability. There are restrictions on the questions that employers can ask you about your health or disability.
For more information about disclosing a disability and an eye condition within the work place please visit the RNIB website.
Sandi Wassmer has written on her Action for Blind People blog about the benefits of disclosing a disability in a work environment, including her own experience.
Directgov has further information about health or disability related questions that employers can ask at different stages of the job recruitment process.
