Our self employment service can support you with a range of services to retain you in business.
Access to Work
Access to Work is a government scheme that can provide you with equipment, adaptations to your working environment or a support worker to enable you to run your business (provided that it is for disability needs).
Our service can support you with an application to Access to Work for;
- Adaptive and assistive technology (CCTV, screen reader etc).
- Environment adaptations to the place of business (improved lighting).
- Travelling to, from and during work (taxis or a support worker).
- A Support worker (for reading, guiding or doing certain aspects of the business).

If your eyesight is having a negative impact on your business, other aspects of your life may also be affected in a negative way.
Independent living
Our independent living service offers support with day-to-day living, welfare rights, housing issues and managing personal budgets. We offer tailored support in all aspects of life after sight loss, enabling you to make informed choices and to be in control of the way you live your life and maintain independence.
Technology
We provide training, support and practical advice on all areas of technology, enabling individuals to become more independent, access information, support skills development and contribute on equal terms.
Employment
It may be the case that you are no longer able to remain self employed. Our employment service provides specialist support and advice to help blind and partially sighted people find employment.
