Employer awards - See the Capability, Not the Disability
Action is recognising employers who have helped blind and partially sighted staff to work on a par with their sighted counterparts.
Nominate your employer for a ‘See the Capability, Not the Disability’ award.
Action acknowledge good practice
Action believes that employers who have shown initiative and seen the capabilities of blind and partially sighted people should be publicly recognised. These employers are committed to creating an environment which allows people with sight loss to perform to their full potential.
We want to recognise enthusiasm and innovation when it comes to making the workplace accessible. Rewarding those who go that extra mile, rather than simply making changes because the law requires it.
How can an employer help?
There are many organisations which demonstrate innovation and good practice in employing visually impaired people. This might involve adapting work stations, introducing special software on computers or providing sight awareness training for staff.
