North West Resource Centre and Shop

Visit us for advice or to try the wide range of products for blind and partially sighted people in our shop. The shop has a selection of the most commonly used items for sale and a range of catalogues so you can purchase other items by mail order.

You can also visit the RNIB online shop to browse available products before visiting the centres and you can purchase online.

Technology advice

Our technology room has a wide range of equipment and we can demonstrate speech and magnification software, large print keyboards and CCTV camera systems which are used to magnify reading material onto a television or computer screen.

Disabled Student Allowance (DSA) assessments

If you are disabled and a student, or applying to study, you may be able to receive a Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA). This is a grant towards the cost of special equipment and other support you need for your course.

We'll assess your needs for the course you're taking, and can train you in using specialist equipment when your grant comes through.

We work in partnership with other organisations, so we can carry out an assessment whatever your disability – it doesn't have to be a sight problem.
