Counselling and emotional support

If you are losing your sight or caring for someone with sight loss, there is someone to talk to. Our counselling services in Bristol, Wiltshire, Hampshire, Lincolnshire, Liverpool, London, Warrington and Cheshire provide counselling and emotional support when adjusting to sight loss.

Who is it for?

  • Adults affected by sight loss.
  • Parents of children with sight loss.
  • Carers and close friends of people with sight loss.

What is it for?

Those seeking counselling or emotional support for issues directly related to sight loss, including:

  • Recent diagnosis.
  • Acknowledgement.
  • Depression.
  • Impact on relationships.
  • Any other feelings arising from sight loss.

People are welcome to talk about any issue, even those not related to sight loss.

Where is it available?

Bristol counselling

The service is available to adults living, working or studying in the Bristol and South Gloucestershire area, as well as Wiltshire and Hampshire. Home visits are possible to clients who are unable to travel into the centre and who live within a five mile radius.

Cheshire counselling

This service is currently under development and we are seeking to establish venues across the county of Cheshire. People living within travelling distance of Warrington are also welcome to access the service based there.

Lincolnshire counselling

The service is available from our team at venues throughout Lincolnshire. Home visits can also be made where appropriate.

Liverpool counselling

The service is available to adults in Liverpool and the north west area of England. We offer counselling in a few central locations in Liverpool, St Helens and Manchester.

London counselling

The service is available to adults living in a London borough. The counselling service is based at the Low Vision Centre at RNIB, Judd Street, London (near Kings Cross station).

Warrington counselling

This service is available to adults living, working or studying in the Warrington area. Home visits are possible to clients who are unable to travel into the centre and who live within a five mile radius.
