My life's changed now. It's totally changed from being a person who's worked
all his life, to having to wait for peple to take me out for walks. And my life's
totally ruined.
Got up for work one morning, found out there was sommat wrong, couldn't see
out of my right eye. I was rushed to hopsital, where I was diagnosed with
diabetes, which has attacked my eyes, and I'm permanently blind in my right eye.
And the hospital's trying to save my left eye.
Me and my wife were just looking at each other, there was no help, we didn't
know where to go, or anything. My consultant put me in touch with Action, who
met me at the Sunderland Eye Infirmary. Sorted everything out for me, from
welfare, my job, looked after me. Any problems, whatsoever, they are there for me.
You just have to pick the phone up, if they can get there to you, they are there,
straight away. If not, they give you the date within a day, or sommat. I can't fault
them at all.
Absolutely fantastic.
