Listen to an interview with Billy "the wizz" Baxter

20 February 2007

Billy Baxter holds the Blind Solo World Land Speed Record on a motorcycle. Billy lead an active life as Staff Sergeant in the Royal Horse Artillery for 20 years before losing his sight whilst serving in Bosnia in 1997.

These days Billy is himself an inspiration to others, living life at breakneck speed and always pushing himself to the limit. Since he lost his sight he has taken up horse riding again, learnt to ski and competed in the Great South Run and the London Marathon.

Billy continues to challenge public perception of the visually impaired with his daredevil antics.

In this inspirational 20 minute interview, Billy tells us in his own words how he felt when he first became blind, what motivates him, and his aims for the future.
