When Hyacinthe received a letter to say she was about to be evicted from her Local Authority property, it came as a complete shock. She was evicted from the property for being in arrears with her rent, and left homeless late last year.

After calling the Local Authority to try and find out what was happening, Hyacinthe discovered that she was no longer listed as registered blind on the Local Authority system due to a paperwork error which had put a stop to her housing benefit several months previously without her knowledge.

We asked Hyacinthe what happened and how she came to hear about Action for Blind People.
