The UK Vision Strategy
Posted by Stephen Remington, published on 11-07-2008
As some of you hopefully will know the UK Vision Strategy was launched during April at a very well attended event. This is the result of many months work and in particular the result of consultation with blind and partially sighted people and their organisations. However, this document should not be viewed as the end of the journey but as the beginning of a long and I hope exciting process.
Often documents are produced and we then congratulate ourselves on doing so and move on to another project while the publication, policy or whatever it may be is left to gather dust on the shelf. My colleagues and I are determined that by setting in place a coherent strategy of seeking to gain influence with policy makers and raising the profile of the key issues as they impact upon blind and partially sighted people that this will not happen with this strategy.
