Eye conditions

Sometimes just knowing more about your eye condition can be reassuring. Our eye condition guides provide information to help you understand your own situation. If you need further information or want to discuss your individual needs you can contact us through the RNIB Helpline by calling 0303 123 9999. Wherever possible they will ensure you are put in touch with your local Action team for information, advice and support.

Local societies and Support groups

It may help to talk to those close to you about how you are feeling. Or you may prefer to talk to someone who doesn't know you personally.

Your local society for the blind and partially sighted will offer a range of services which may include information, befriending, or the chance to socialise.

There are a number of support groups for people with a particular eye condition, for example Macular Degeneration or Glaucoma. Many of these run telephone helplines or have networks of self-help groups around the country.

You can contact us through the RNIB Helpline by calling 0303 123 9999 or email helpline@rnib.org.uk . Wherever possible they will ensure you are put in touch with your local Action team for for free, impartial advice and support.
