Self employment support in London
Enterprise in Sight
The Enterprise in Sight project provides support and empowerment to London-based blind or partially sighted entrepreneurs.
The London Development Agency-funded project aims to enable entrepreneurs to capitalise on the commercial opportunities of 2012 by providing structured business development advice and support. Action's Team of Business Advisers can provide this support at any external location, or at our Business Incubation facility in London. Our Advisors can provide in-depth business development advice with technical assistance in any or all of sales, marketing, finance and operations.
Specifically, the Business Advisors will support clients with funding applications and access technology applications where necessary. They will also continue to offer one-to-one advice and guidance after the business start up.
Our Business Advisers can also support existing businesses owned by visually impaired people.
The project will also provide networking opportunities through Entrepreneurs Forums, community groups and workshops. All these services will be facilitated by a Community Outreach Officer, who will help to develop existing and new relationships with BAME communities.
Enterprise in Sight will assist 65 existing businesses and 30 new businesses.
Future Visions
Future Visions, also a London based service, provides a first stepping stone into self employment.
We can support you with an individual action plan, and a bespoke package of personal development, which includes information, advice, guidance and training to help you in starting your own business.
We also provide introductory courses on assistive technology software JAWS and Supernova.
Clients we are currently supporting range from accountants and management consultants to a jazz singer who has set up her own record label and a catering company which has just won the first Olympic contract.

"The business advisers on both Future Visions and Enterprise in Sight work very closely with the clients on a one-to-one basis. If need be, they will visit the person in their home; they’ll attend events with the client; they’ll help with research. They won’t do the work for the client, but they’ll work alongside them, and I think we’re one of the only agencies across the country that does that."
