Karen's appeal

Karen loved her home and spent many hours happily cooking and baking in her kitchen. But when Karen was diagnosed with diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration, her life at home slowly started to change dramatically.
Karen's home was filled with danger
"It was only when I was too frightened to use the stove or stairs that I realised I couldn't cope by myself. I couldn't do the things I used to and I thought my days as an independent women were gone forever."
How Action for Blind People helped
Through simple and practical tools, Karen has her independence back. Action for Blind People has helped Karen to assess her home and find out more about her living situation. We have helped provide Karen with talking scales, a water jug and hot pan discs so she can keep cooking and baking her children's favourite recipes.
"Action for Blind People has given me back my confidence - and my kitchen." Karen
